NANO PROTECTION

Nano Protection Technology

The most common complaint about stone is not breakage but staining — tea on a countertop, acid rain etching a facade. Hengsheng uses deep-penetrating nano protection: the active component enters the capillaries and forms a film inside them, closing the capillary paths without leaving a surface coating. Tested to international standards by SGS, it extends service life significantly in practice.

Core Strengths

  • Penetration, not coating: the sealer forms a film inside the stone's capillaries rather than on the face, so natural colour and veining are unchanged and the stone remains breathable.
  • Stain and acid-rain resistance: with the capillaries closed, tea, oil and acid rain struggle to penetrate, and daily care needs only water or a neutral cleaner.
  • Formulation by stone type: penetration depth and dosage are adjusted to the porosity and mineral composition of marble, granite, travertine and limestone rather than applying one formula to all.
  • Independent verification: performance is tested to international standards by SGS, with reports available for specification and acceptance.

Service Process

  1. Stone identified: type, porosity and environment confirmed — interior or exterior, wet or dry, acid or alkali exposure.
  2. Surface preparation: faces cleaned and dried so capillaries are open to penetration.
  3. Application: sealer applied to a measured dosage for full penetration.
  4. Curing: cured under controlled temperature and humidity to form a stable hydrophobic layer.
  5. Verification: water drop and stain tests sampled, with re-application and records where needed.

Applications

  • Kitchen countertops, vanity tops and food preparation counters
  • Building facades in humid climates and high-pollution environments
  • High-traffic floors in shopping centres and airports
  • Pool surrounds and water features with constant moisture

Sustainability & Certification

Protection is predominantly water-based, cutting volatile organic compound emissions in line with the technical route behind GREENGUARD Gold certification.

A longer service life means fewer replacements and less strip-out, directly reducing construction waste; with 95% process water recycling and over 85% waste utilisation, the whole-life environmental burden is lower.

Deep Selection Guide

Protection succeeds through penetration, not thickness. Surface coatings wear, blush and change the feel of the stone; penetrating sealers put the protection inside. Confirm at purchase whether protection is included in delivery, which formulation is used and how often maintenance is needed; specify a weathering-resistant formulation for exterior work and areas exposed to acid rain. Where stone is cut or drilled on site, the cut edges and hole edges must be sealed as well, or the protective layer will have gaps exactly where it matters most.

  • Selection criteria:The conditions of use at Kitchen countertops, vanity tops and food preparation counters dictate the stone and the process, while Penetration, not coating governs how the finished face reads; only when both are settled should an order be placed.
  • Specification & thickness:Control tolerance with Capillary film (Deep penetration) and set panel size to Building facades in humid climates and high-pollution environments; corners and cut-outs must be called out on the detail drawing beforehand.
  • Acceptance & records:Acceptance focuses on Stain and acid-rain resistance: with the capillaries closed, tea, oil and acid rain struggle to penetrate, and daily care needs only water or a neutral cleaner., with figures and images retained; if a dispute arises it can be traced by batch code back to production and testing.
  • Sustainability:Protection is predominantly water-based, cutting volatile organic compound emissions in line with the technical route behind GREENGUARD Gold certification. Set it out in the contract and acceptance documents, and bring it into line with local environmental rules.

On Nano Protection Technology, the value Hengsheng brings is not the material alone but whether selection, fabrication, QC and delivery can be closed into an auditable loop that keeps programme and quality under control together.

FAQ

Will nano protection make the stone look coated?
No. Deep-penetrating protection forms a film inside the capillaries with no visible surface layer, so colour, veining and touch are unchanged and the stone stays breathable — the key difference from surface coatings.
How long does the protection last?
It depends on use and traffic; interiors typically last several years. High-traffic floors and exterior facades should be checked on a maintenance cycle, using a water drop test to judge whether re-application is needed. In practice, protected stone lasts significantly longer.
